Write about any new emerging computer  technologies.    There are many sources for this information including the internet, newspapers, blogs, press announcements, etc.  Create a title – centered, 16-point Times New Roman font  The entire document has to be in 14-point Times New Roman font except for title. Each paragraph should be  indented one fourth inch from margin.  The first line of each paragraph should be indented an additional   one fourth inch. Put a footer on the bottom of the page that gives your full name, the words Assignment 1, the date. The footer is centered, and set in ten point Times New Roman.  You will need to cite your source(s) at the end of your writing assignment. Please refer to the rubric for grading criteria. Additional Guidelines:  You may get the article from a newspaper, a magazine, or online (  (Links to an external site.) ,  (Links to an external site.) ,  (Links to an external site.) , and  (Links to an external site.)  are good sources). Advertisements are not articles. Press releases are not articles. A product description detailing the product’s features and price is not a good choice for an article. Remember to stay on topic. An article about the increase in car rentals over the past year is not an article about technology. An article about car rental companies using the cars’ microprocessors to see if renters have been speeding is very appropriate. 2. Write a summary of the article in your own words. Do not just copy and paste large blocks of text into your summary. The summary must be at least three paragraphs long. Paragraphs that consist of product specifications do not count. A paragraph must have at least two sentences in it. 3. You must use a Microsoft word 4. Make sure you understand the article! If the article says “AnyCo is the world’s leading distributor of EJBs” then you had better be able to tell us what an “EJB” is. 5. The summary must include your opinion of the information, and it must be specific. Just saying, “I think this is cool stuff” is not sufficient. You will have to think about what the article says and what it means.
