Western Diplomats in Peking and The Boxer Uprising 1899-1901

When you quote something, please use the primary sources as much as possible, and please use footnotes to show the reader. For example, when you quote a sentence from a book, according to the footnote on that book, you may find that sentence is originally from an archive record, personal diary, or newspaper in the past. Then you do not use that book as a reference. You should use the original source because it is the primary source. Primary sources include documents or artifacts created by a witness to or participant in an event. They can be firsthand testimony or evidence created during the time period that you are studying. Primary sources may include diaries, letters, interviews, oral histories, photographs, newspaper articles, government documents. The collection and analysis of primary sources is central to historical research. Please read the books I posted on INSTRUCTIONS
