Response on Ancient Rome Evidence Readings

Please first carefully read the two PDF evidences I have provided, and then write a response paper base on these two evidences, what are the things that you find very important, and why you think it is important to the Ancient Rome, what are these two evidences wrote about. And Please also do cite specific passages or visual details and connect those observations to larger themes! DO NOT just write a summery of it. And Please do NOT use any sources other than those two article, Use your own words, AND PLEASE avoid plagiarism, make sure every single thing is cited well!!!!  And here are some example questions you may reference to include in the response(don’t have to use them, better come up with your own):  1. What do Livy and Polybius (Dillon and Garland 6.7-8) say about the relationship between Roman imperialism and slavery? How does the process of mass enslavement work? What perspectives do these authors bring to the practice? 2. What types of roles did enslaved people in the Roman world occupy? Can we recover the experiences and perspectives of enslaved people in industrial settings and performance contexts from inscriptions they left behind (D&G 6.28-29 and 31-32)?  3. What does Diodorus Siculus say about slave labor in Spanish mines (D&G 6.30) and how does that account inform your understanding of Roman slavery? 4. How are enslaved people represented in Plautus’ comedies? How does the humor work in the Pseudolus and The Two Menaechmuses (D&G 6.24-25)? What sort of character is Milphio in the Poenulus? From these comedic renditions, what inferences can you make about how slavery operated in Roman culture? 5. What cultural attitudes towards Carthaginians are present in the Poenulus? How is the character of Hanno represented? Is he a crude ethnic stereotype, the sympathetic figure of a devoted father or something else? Describe the linguistic dynamics of the scene and analyze the role language plays in articulating cultural identity.
