The Scenario: You just joined Bryant Widgets Corporation as the Vice President of Human Resources. Bryant Widgets Corporation is a private employer with over 1,000 employees. Your duties as the company include monitoring the recruiting and hiring process.  Jane Employee: Jane Employee, a 22-year-old aspiring salesperson, just had an interview at Bryant Widgets Corporation. In the course of her interview, the interviewer asked her if she was married or planned to get married and start a family in the near future.  Questions Presented to You:  Please describe the following questions for the Chief Executive Officer: 1. Does Title VII of the Civil Rights Act prohibit this question? If so, why? 2. Is this an example of disparate treatment or disparate impact? Please answer the question and describe the two types of prohibited behavior.
