Harlem Renaissance

Sources:                       At least one primary (literary) text; at least three secondary sources (peer-reviewed articles, scholarly book chapters, or theoretical texts from our Critical Theory book) Write a scholarly essay that examines the issue you introduced in your research proposal. Your structure and choice of sources will depend on the Call for Papers you are responding to and the type of question you are concerned with. Write as if you were preparing to present your paper at the conference indicated in the CFP (your essay should take about 15-20 minutes to read out loud). Your essay should present an analysis of the literary text (or texts) and use secondary sources to further this analysis. Put your secondary sources in conversation by considering how they illuminate the primary text in different ways; remember, however, that the purpose of this essay is for you to persuade your reader toward a certain understanding of your literary text(s).
